1-Arguments against children’s literature are very unrealistic let’s be honest. When You hear something like “we can’t afford thirty or fort copies of something we don’t know.” Makes you as a district look like you don’t care. Brown Girl Dreaming is a book that children in our district are able to relate to and just because you don’t does mean it gives you the right to not allow it to be in the curriculum that we are teaching. I know many of my students have actually had personal connections to the book and that why I think it’s important to include this book in our school district. The second argument “No one around here knows anything about it. If it was really worth knowing we’d have heard about it.” with this argument I question you.
